A Lit Locker Room ♻️
Featuring Tons of Trade Tickets, A Hot Top Shot Market, Wedding Vibes, Locking Data & More
GM, B&B Friends! Happy Wednesday — hope your week is off to an excellent start!
Programming note — you’ll be hearing from LG this weekend for the Saturday B&B, as I will be finally… GETTING MARRIED!
Yes, our wedding (that was originally scheduled for 2020 until COVID crashed the party) is actually happening — four years in the making!
Speaking of weddings — here is a hilarious video of Joel Embiid dancing the Hora, which I wish I could have at my own reception:
Let’s get into all the action from the last few days:
A Lit Locker Room ♻️
The new and improved Locker Room packs dropped on Friday, with collectors able to continually rip, recycle and repeat in search of rare or legendary moments. It feels a bit similar to a penny slot or cheap lotto ticket, and honestly it’s been pretty entertaining!
Some data on what the numbers look like after a weekend of ticket activity:
I’ve personally ripped a bunch, and while I haven’t hit anything noteworthy — the pack opening itch is being scratched with low risk, all while getting rid of moments I don’t care about. Win. Win.
And the community has certainly been churning those tickets, with 409,000 created on Saturday alone.
There have been also some nice pulls out on the Twitter streets:
Market Movers — Locked & Loaded 📈
In addition to the Locker Room, last week also saw the start of Team Leaderboards and the ability to lock up moments.
Wondering what is getting the 🔒 so far? OTM with the stats:
And with the added intrigue and fun new features, the market seems to be responding 👀:
Fingers crossed that we can avoid the flywheel pattern we’ve seen over past years as the next NBA season inches closer:
Season start » Moment printer goes brrr » Market tanks, collectors angry » Offseason » Less supply, new features » Market up, collectors happy » Repeat
And for those of us who have been shitposting about Top Shot for a while (myself included), this one hits home:
