A Big Month For Sports NFTs 🚀
Featuring big sales numbers, 3 straight sellouts, the next step for Flovatar, and "the worst moment yet on top shot".
What’s up everyone.
It’s mid-month, and we’ve just entered the most exciting time of the year for sports fan: Autumn.
With week 2 of the NFL underway, College Football causing chaos, the FIBA World Cup freshly wrapped up, and the NBA/NHL seasons around the corner (not to mention MLB Playoffs), it’s a good time to hang with friends and catch some sports.
Oddly enough, it seems like the market felt similar last month: Secondary volume saw a 105% bump in August from the previous month, led largely by Draft Kings and Sorare.
But not far behind were the Dapper projects, along with Candy Digital and NFL Rivals!
Its worth noting here that I believe the Draft Kings figure includes their primary pack sales, not just peer-to-peer volume.
But still - those are great numbers across the board. And August is typically a positive month for the crypto scene (unlike September, that historically dips into the red), so this is on par.
On the Buyer side, we saw similar bumps for these projects, as over 15k people jumped on to DK (but again, the same caveat re: primary market).
It might not be much, but at this point in the bear market I think we’ll take any positive bumps we can get.
Now onto everything that happened this week in Sports NFTs.

😮 ALL DAY Sells Out 3rd Straight Week
It’s no secret that TFM is partnered with NFL ALL DAY to start the season.
But outside that partnership, we gotta give props to their new initiative - Dynamic Moments that evolve as the season goes on - for bringing in the crowds to tune of a 3rd straight week of sellouts.
Check our that post in the tweet - it dives deep into strategy for Dynamic Moments and also features our TFM Network homies at All Night Show as well as other great community members.

And to top it off, Own The Moment announced the return of OTM Rumble, a fantasy-based game where you can use NFL ALL DAY Moments in weekly lineups!
Plus there is more to come from ALL DAY, including some Common Moments and team-based collecting. Read more about those below.
🗑️ The Worst Top Shot Moment Yet
Yes, my opinion is biased.
And I feel like it was done to spite me personally.
This week, Top Shot released a new LeBron “Anthology” Moment from Game 3 of a meaningless Conference Semi Final game from like 10 years ago.
That series was famously dubbed the “LeBronto” series, mainly because it was during that era where the refs and Adam Silver did anything they could to make sure LeBron got to the finals.
As of this writing, the Moment sits around $200.
Top Shot also took this opportunity to drop packs in their app, continuing a trend of driving users to mobile.
They followed this up with a “stress test” yesterday afternoon where you got the opportunity to buy 4 trade tickets common moments for $2.99.
That word used to mean something man!
Anyway.
Let’s just start the season already. No more anthologies or any of that, just get to it!
🤖 Flovatar Launches In Europe
Back in May, community favorite project Flovatar announced they would be partnering with two of the biggest newspapers in Europe to launch the Sportvatar program.
And this week it finally went live, with packs available on the Sportvatar site ranging from $9.99 up to $199.99.
I do like this project and hold a handful of Flovatars, and I’m actually surprised it hasn’t picked up.
It’s a purely modular NFT project, where you can own/trade the individual traits on your character.
Here’s mine. Dude could run super fast for a very long time, but not much else.
🏆 Sorare Gets Love on EPL Twitter
Just recently, Sorare launched a global “scavenger hunt” to promote their new 3D cards that display in-app and through your phone (kind of like that Ikea catalogue thing…but its a Sorare card!)
And now they’ve received support from the English Premier League, with a fancy little banner on the league’s Twitter account!
