I don’t know how to tell you this but I’m kind of a big deal when it comes to burning.
This past week, NBA Top Shot unveiled their “HEAT CHECK” Burning Event, a feature that invites collectors to Burn moments for Trade Tickets.
The tickets were redeemable for a new release of Locker Packs, which contained a few hundred unreleased Series 1 Moments (+ thousands of 35k, 40k, and 60k mints).
The catch? They added a Burning Leaderboard.
Yes, that’s me at the top there. Number #1.
This challenge ends Sunday night, but there’s no doubt that I shall be the undisputed champion of this arbitrary contest, which Top Shot has said will reward no prize whatsoever.
How did I get here? Well, for starters, I traded in 342x Moments last week when the leaderboard opened, then bought 85x Locker Packs and ripped them on stream.
Following the stream, I burned all my useless locker moments (another 255x) and repeated this process until packs sold out.
I also torched everything worth $2, which turns out, was quite a lot of moments. And now, I am future champion, with a thin lead I aim to hold through Sunday night.

Now this is super cool. The ALL DAY team has once again partnered with the Los Angeles Rams to deliver CLAIMABLE PACKS directly at the game.
Basically, each fan was given a wristband, which could then be redeemed for a pack containing Rams common moments.

📦 Packs Fail To Sell Out Across Platforms
Remember the good old days when packs of literally any sports property would sell out in seconds? And we had to wait in those awful queues?
Well, those days are gone. This week, Top Shot Hot Packs failed to sell out for the first time this season, and Candy Digital has not yet sold out their 2022 Uncut Diamonds Drop (highly anticipated rookies).

Top Shot is back to the Team Leaderboard grind, this time with a snapshot for a set called “CLAMPS”, where the top 1500 on each board will get a Moment.
Although I like that this is a broader reward distribution than the Duos (top 750), the snapshot will be taken sometime between Dec 7-23. Can’t stand that! Just take it!!
👛 Dapper Announces Self-Custody Wallet
People have often criticized Dapper Sports for being too centralized (they are!), but they’ve made strides recently by allowing larger IP to transfer off platform (TS, AD).
Now comes the next phase: a new self-custody wallet, which could lead to a mobile app + allow the wallet to sign in on other platforms (Uniswap, OpenSea, etc.)
No release date yet. Early access for devs open for now.

The latest challenge have been met with community pushback, and this one will as well. Its too many scarce moments to burn/lock. But hey John Wall is back!

Nike launched their first IRL “Cryptokicks” as part of their RTFKT integration. We actually did a podcast about this last month!
However, many holders were very unhappy with the way it was rolled out, as holders of the MNLTH collection were only given a $130 discount
Own The Moment joined a virtual sports league where they will operate a meta football team. Other owners include Magic Johnson and LaMelo Ball.
Netflix will not be licensing live sports. Their CEO does not want to follow the same path as Amazon (NFL) and Apple (MLB) as he sees no “profit path”.
John Nellis from the Sofar Sorare pod quit his job as an air traffic controller to go full time as a content creator. Congrats John!
