Are we all gonna get rich?
Thatās the questions we ask when we see our favorite NFT brands raise a massive round of capital investment.
Doodles. Apes. Pixel Vault. Moonbirds. Jenkins.
The list of NFT-native projects that started off as indy darlings but have now taken on institutional investors grows by the day. And we canāt blame them - get that money, grow that business, become the next Disney, yadi yada yada.
But for plebs holders like us, thereās a harsh reality buried in the hopium news of VC raises: that ROI for the investors matters more than ROI for the holders.
Itās part of growing up as a company. And unfortunately, its a departure from the ethos of web3: the decentralization of value and capital. Web3 was never supposed to be about the corporations and the silicon valley crowd; its meant to be a place where the people, the participants, and the network see the lionās share of the value.
And lucky for us, thereās a place very close to our hearts that is living up to these ideals, and empowering great network-based projects to develop out in the openā¦

Nay, he has conviction in what the true meaning of web3 will be: driving shared digital value directly into the communities and networks that inhabit the landscape.
On todayās show, we discuss what we as participants in this network (and our multiple sub networks) should expect from the space, and what it should expect from us.
Should we simply be treated as consumers?
Should we only expect healthy returns?
Or should we move beyond the current meta, and support projects living up to the broader ideals of the space?
Jess runs The Seed Club: an incubator for web 3 communities and networks.
Twice a year, they take on 15-20 projects and give them the tools, resources, and guidance necessary to see their fantastic ideas through to the other side.
