A man who retired from baseball, then broke into NFTs as an artist and created a blue chip collection.
What’s up everybody, it’s LG Doucet here.
If you know anything about anything in NFTs, then you know Micah Johnson.
Former MLB player-turned-famous NFT Artist.
He is best known for his collection Aku Dreams, which has recorded over 14,000 ETH in secondary volume trading thus far.
What I love about Micah’s story is that it’s not just an epic career pivot. Its actually a happy accident, followed by an extreme (maybe delusional?) conviction on his newfound skills.
Midway through his playing career, Micah joined a new team (the Dodgers), and was asked by manager Dave Roberts to try a new skill in front of the team.
Micah chose to paint - something he had never done before! (??)
And upon completion of his first piece, something clicked for the young pro. His teammates loved his painting, and encouraged him to take the next step.
And upon hanging up his cleats in 2018, he decided it was painting or bust, and spent the next two years in his garage, painting every single day…
