🧙♂️The Ultimate Guide to Fantasy Football NFTs
The best ways to hit the gridiron in the NFT space this fall.
Football season is here, and our man @GhostOfGregOden has taken a deep dive into all things Fantasy Football x NFTs. This piece is a one-off article to provide a full breakdown on all place to get your jpeg fantasy fix.
Love NFTs? Into fantasy football? You’ve come to the right place!
As the NFT space has grown in popularity over the last year, so have the amount of projects and platforms building for the Web3 audience. And with daily fantasy sports on the rise, it’s no wonder this season has more options than ever for your NFT and fantasy worlds to collide.
Note — while the NFL has continued to wade into the Web3 waters (after originally taking an anti-crypto / NFT stance last year), only certain projects have licensing rights agreements with the league.
With the 2022-23 NFL season right around the corner, let’s dive into the variety of ways to currently get your fantasy fix on the blockchain:
NFL All Day
Launch: December 2021
Discord: 70,000
Twitter: 73,500
Total Users: 83,000
Total Volume: $42M
Highest Sale: $65,000 — Aaron Rodgers S1 Legendary #12/39
📜 The Lowdown
All Day is the NFL digital highlight platform by Dapper Labs, creators of NBA Top Shot and the FLOW ecosystem. All Day’s digital highlights are officially licensed with the NFL & NFLPA.
Launched last year and in closed beta for most of the 2021 season, All Day enters the 2022-23 NFL season with high expectations and buzzy marketing to continue Dapper’s mission of bringing sports NFT collectibles to the masses.
🏈 How to Play
Users can build their collection through pack drops or on the Marketplace. While the current supply is limited to the 2021 season or historical moments, more pack drops are likely on the way as the season gets rolling.
Rarity tiers (Common, Rare, Legendary, Ultimate) are used to define scarcity — with certain moments also displaying badges that signify an important milestone (All Day Debut, Rookie Mint, Rookie Year, etc.)
Similar to Top Shot, All Day Moments can be used for challenges — which reward users with packs, new moments, and more. While the utility of moments is currently limited to challenges, read further down for info on OTM Rumble, which gamifies moments for fantasy football contests.
Additionally, All Day has added gamification in the form of ‘Playbook’ — a rewards-based game mode that encourages users to be active and complete tasks and challenges on the platform. Users will be given weekly ‘plays’ (such as completing a challenge based on NFL action or as simply logging in) and can accrue yardage towards reward milestones.
More info:
💰 Cost
Pricing for pack drop varies by tier — with last season’s standard drops going for $59 and the most recent historical drop priced a bit higher at $84.
🤑 Your First $100
The Common tier may have the highest mint count, but there are plenty of All Day Debuts and rookie mints at affordable prices. Whether you’re into speculating on potential future stars or snagging the first moment of a legend, there are a range of Common options on the market for all types of collectors.
💭 Thoughts
All Day has done a great job of marketing and generating hype for this season, utilizing major stars like Patrick Mahomes to gain awareness for the product. A big question remains — can All Day crack the supply issue that has plagued nearly all sports collectibles?
Overall, All Day is in a great position to act as the main NFT *collectible* for the NFL ecosystem — but it remains to be seen if that interest will translate for those looking for more of a fantasy football experience.

📜 The Lowdown
Daily fantasy sports giant DraftKings enters the sector with a weekly game utilizing NFTs to put together a fantasy lineup. Reignmakers’ player cards are officially licensed with the NFLPA.
🏈 How to Play
Users can start building their collection via pack drops (new players can claim a free starter pack of 6 NFTs here), shopping in the marketplace, or participating in auctions. Prices and scarcity vary by tier (Core, Rare, Elite, Legendary, Reignmaker) — with the rarity levels also acting as a gatekeeper for entry into specific contests.
💰 Cost
The contests on Reignmakers are free to enter — the cost comes entirely from building your collection. Gating lineups by tiers will (theoretically) prevent a ‘pay-to-win’ model from developing, as shown in this requirements chart for contest levels:
The top-tier players are marked as ‘Superstars’, with users only able to use one in each lineup — also limiting the ability for whales to completely stack lineups.
In terms of drops, Core (the lowest rarity tier) packs are sold for $40 USD, and include 5 cards (4 Core, 1 Rare or Elite). By contrast, the Reignmaker packs are available for a whopping $30,000 USD (4 Legendary, 1 Reignmaker).
While at first glance that price point might seem eye-popping, the top-tier cards have been selling for over $10,000, so there does seem to be demand for the higher-end of the platform.
🤑 Your First $100
If you’re just dipping your toes into the Reignmakers waters, there is plenty of value on the marketplace at the Core tier — with many superstars available in the $10-20 range.
💭 Thoughts
With the backing of a DFS giant, Reignmakers has perhaps the best opportunity of any project to onboard the rabid DFS and fantasy community into NFTs. With a reported 1.5M MUP (monthly unique payers), DraftKings has the reach and built-in userbase to become the premier fantasy football NFT in the market.

OTM Rumble & The Owner’s Club
Launch: June 2022 / September 2021
Discord: N/A / 3,200
Twitter: N/A / 13,600
Total Users: 5,000 / 2,000
Total Volume: ≈ N/A / $750K
Highest Sale: N/A
📜 The Lowdown
OTM started as an analytics platform for NBA Top Shot, but has since branched out into the broader fantasy sports space.
The platform provides utility for NFL All Day moments (detailed above) through Rumble — a new game where users can compete in weekly fantasy contests for Dapper Balance prizes.
OTM also runs The Owner’s Club — a separate fantasy experience independent of NFL All Day. Users can buy packs that contain team positions instead of individual players (ex: Baltimore QB, Philadelphia RB, etc.) and enter contests to win cash prizes.
An important note: The Owner’s Club is currently re-launching for this coming season. For the purpose of this article, I am operating under the assumption that the platform will remain similar to last year’s experience.
🏁 Getting Started
On Rumble, getting started means building your All Day collection. Each week users can submit a lineup containing 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 FLEX and 1 DEF, with the scoring similar to a typical DFS weekly tournament.
For TOC, can either buy packs or purchase individual cards on the marketplace — with weekly games needing various positions and requirements.
💰 Cost
Rumble is free to participate in, with the up-front cost being strictly on the collection building side of NFL All Day.
TOC’s Best Ball packs are slated to sell for $10 each, and contain 20 cards. Users will also be able to purchase individual cards on the Marketplace.
💭 Thoughts
Through both Rumble and TOC, Own the Moment is helping push fantasy football into the NFT world.
With a large portion of NFL fandom revolving around the fantasy space, Rumble helps provide a bridge for All Day users to both utilize their moments and have a fun fantasy football experience. However, as of now, the platform acts as more of a nice perk for All Day users, not a standalone game worth entering the ecosystem for.
The Owner’s Club is playing in a similar sandbox to Reignmakers — and faces an uphill battle for growing the userbase with a big-time licensed competitor in DraftKings. TOC did give away ≈$1.5M in prizes last season, so there IS plenty of meat on the bone for those looking for a less-mainstream / different format of fantasy fun.
TOC does have the support of more NFT-native sports fans, and could fill a niche amongst the FLOW/Dapper community.

NFL Rivals
📜 The Lowdown
The first officially licensed NFL blockchain game, Rivals enters the NFT space with a different angle than other fantasy football-centric offerings. Advertised as an arcade-style game, Rivals looks to be more in line with Football Manager and other simulation-based Web2 games we’ve seen in the past.
Delivering on the fantasy of being a team General Manager, this fun, easy to play game will allow NFL fans and gamers alike to compete against other GMs with their assembled player rosters and teams, building, leveling up and improving their lineup. In addition, fans will be able to own, collect and trade non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of their favorite players through this play-and-own game experience.
While there is currently little information out there about the project (expected launch is early 2023), users can purchase Rarity League helmet NFTs — and will receive a reward tokens that are vouchers for player cards later on within Rivals.

LeagueDAO
📜 The Lowdown
Perhaps the most ‘Web3’ of the fantasy offerings, LeagueDAO incorporates concepts like DeFi, tokenization ($LEAG is the governance token of the platform), decentralization, play-to-earn and on-chain scoring to differentiate from the more mainstream options.
LeagueDAO has several fantasy formats available, including a Crypto Fantasy (a randomly generated weekly best ball competition), the Mega League (season-long head-to-head) and NOMO — a keeper week-to-week fantasy league that allows users to stake their players to earn a share of the reward pool based on performance.
LeagueDAO’s structure is a bit more complex than some of the other fantasy football outlets, so the Whitepaper is a recommended reading before jumping in.
