🎙️Yes, they made NFTs of The Sandlot
And yes, the cast from The Sandlot is on the show this week. Plus, Phil talks illegal fireworks, and we discuss last week's Top Shot "scandal".
What’s up everybody, it’s LG Doucet here.
It’s times like these where the strangest things happen.
I was at a loss for content this week - after all, you can only beat a dead horse so many times (horse = Top Shot), and the rest of the sports x NFT world has been seriously lacking in the entertainment division.
Sorare is mid-season for MLB, and near end-playoffs for NBA.
UFC Strike is making a game. Its taking a long time.
NFL Rivals (a newcomer) is hot, but NFL season is 4 months away.
And I just don’t really cover Draft Kings.
You may have noticed that to pass the time in between bull cycles, we’ve been tapping into some nostalgia on TFM - posting old video games, historic highlights, and even referencing classic films.
Well today, one of those references came true.
Because on this week’s pod, we welcome our first guests in a long time, and two original cast members of The Sandlot (1993), to talk about their commemorative collection, Boys of Summer.
Needless to say, it was a surreal experience to talk to these guys, and one that was perfect for The First Mint.
We talked about their casting, how Victor was in Dennis The Menace Dinosaur Hunter (1987), and then struck them with some classic TFM trivia.
All that and more, on this week’s episode right after the jump.

We had some decent volume pumps last week!
Of note: NFL Rivals, a fully licensed arcade game, surging up the charts!
And on the user count, Rivals also saw a boost!
It continues to remain weird and nostalgic on the Twitter streets.
And another.
With things looking bleaker by the day, we asked when it may turnaround:
As the Summer approaches, we wanted to hear from your bucket list.
