What’s up everybody, it’s LG Doucet here.
We love a good tweet.
Especially in the NFT space, a well crafted tweet can move markets, change feelings, or simply capture the current zeitgeist of that particular day.
If you were here for the very early days of The First Mint, you know that we lived and died by our Tweets. Someone once referred to our feed as a “masterful display of emoji” and I’ll never forget that compliment.
But much has happened since those early days.
The NFT space evolved way beyond Top Shot. Apes came. Cats came. Tons of other weird shit came. And so did thousands of new friends, colleagues, and community members.
But today, we find ourselves down deep in the bear market. The music has stopped, and only a few whispers remain in the conversation, many of them comical in nature.
Which is where we found today’s guest…
🌟Today’s Pod: The King of NFT Twitter | ThreadGuy
We like the tweets. And some of even like the guy!
ThreadGuy is an integral part of the NFT community, just like any shitposter should be. My ask to him was quite simple: come on the pod to talk process, memes, and his work at Tally Labs.
I assumed he would talk about his background in comedy, or his history as an influencer on another social platform.
I was dead wrong.
This is his first time. For…literally everything.
His first time being an influencer.
His first time writing funny material.
His first time…holding a real job!
To put it simply: this guy was flipping sneakers while in school, and saw so much opportunity in NFT Twitter shitposting that he dropped out of school to do it full time despite only having 200 followers at the time.
Now that is betting on yourself.

🌋 ICYMI: The ETH Merge Explained | 0xQuit
Last week, we welcomed the legend 0xQuit to the show, one of the leading devs of the industry and someone smarter than I.
He walked us through how THE MERGE will work on Ethereum (hint: its good for the environment), and the alternate bizarro world on Ethereum that may be created by the Proof-of-Work fundamentalists.
Keen to know what’s gonna shake up the crypto world on September 15th? This is the episode for you.
Listen to it again:
What the community had to say:
The First Mint is proud to be partnered with Flowty, a peer-to-peer NFT loan and rental platform on the Flow Blockchain founded by Michael Levy (fondly known as MBL throughout the Top Shot community):
Are you an NBA Top Shot collector / investor? Did you know that you can do a LOT more with moments than just buy and sell them?
Need help completing a Top Shot challenge? Rent on Flowty.
Have extra moments for a challenge and want to generate income in a safe way? Rent out your moments on Flowty.
Need liquidity but don’t want to sell your moments? Use moments as collateral to take out a loan on Flowty.
Looking for an alternative way to invest in Top Shot? Generate passive income by lending (funding loans) on Flowty.
Flowty’s rental and loan marketplace allows renters, owners, borrowers and lenders to transact in a safe and easy way!
